I love this shot! I took it near Sedona, Arizona. I edited it very little -- only to darken one little patch in the overhead clouds. The extremely low camera position, wide angle, and use of a polarization filter contribute to the dramatic and somewhat surreal appearance, but credit is due mostly to the magic of the area. I shot this picture as some heavier clouds were sweeping in over the desert, while the sun cast some beautiful, looming shadows in the foreground for me. The drama of the foreground, contrasted with the serenity of the baground, is what makes this shot. (Canon EOS 10D, 17-40/4L at 17 mm, f/11, 1/30 sec.)
